EDMONTON (2015 FIBA Americas Women’s Championship) - Chile took a dominant victory in the opener of the 2015 FIBA Americas Women’s Championship by a score of 88-56 over the Dominican Republic. The Chileans won their first match of Group A.

• Turning Point: A breakthrough of 17-5 to start the game was key for Chile, who imposed its offensive weapons, Ziomara Morrison and Vanessa Leeper, from the initial jump.

• Stats don’t lie: The Dominican Republic threw for an 18 percent from the three-point area in an erratic offensive show in its debut.

• Game Hero: Ziomara Morrison opened the 2015 FIBA Americas Women’s with a performance for the books, with 28 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks in the Chilean victory.
