SUDFEM14 - Boquete: "Rio de Janeiro 2016 is a dream for many of us"

Andrea Boquete returned this year to the Argentina team after 21 months of not being able to defend the jersey in international tournaments and was an important figure during the ODESUR Games in Santiago de Chile and today is one of the most prominent players in the XXXIV South American Championship of Ambato.

The pivot of the National Team of Chile, its main figure, is optimistic about the possibility that they will have the next August in Edmonton when they compete in the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship, that will provide a position in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, in which still they have never participated.

The team coached by Luiz Zanón defeated Chile, 91-58 and will play against Argentina for the Championship, in what will be a rematch of the last South American Championship of Mendoza, in 2013. Brazil had five players scoring 10 or more points, with Clarissa dos Santos as the top figure with 17 points plus 12 rebounds.

The team led by Cristian Santander defeated the team of Venezuela by 75-54 and secured their place in the finals and the 2015 Toronto Pan American Games. Andrea Boquete was the figure of the game by scoring 29 points.

SUDFEM14 – Ecuador will face Paraguay for fifth place, while Uruguay will face Peru for seventh place

Ecuador and Paraguay will define the fifth position on the last day of the Championship. The team led by George Elorduy defeated Uruguay in the first game, while the local did the same against Peru. Uruguay and Peru will meet to determine the seventh position.
