FAU18 - USA's dominance is confirmed on second day of tournament
6/17/2012

Sao Sebastiao do Paraiso, Brazil - The United States scored their second win of the FIBA Americas U18 Championship by defeating the team from Mexico by a score of 110-59.

From the start the superiority of the U.S. team was clear with a huge rotation that allowed them to defend and maintain their full-court transition game at full force. All team players scored in the match.

Mexico, meanwhile, continued to play hard but it was not enough against a team that dominated U.S. all aspects of play.

The quarters finished 32-12, 26-14, 27-17, and 25-16, respectively, all in favor of Americans.

The best scorer of the match was USA’s John Layman with 18 points, while for Mexico the best was Jesse Arias, who scored 13 points.

USA will face Brazil tomorrow at 6:00 pm, while Mexico will clash with Virgin Islands in the opening of the third and final day of the first round.
