#FIBAAmericasWomen2015 - Argentina took the Bronze

EDMONTON (2015 FIBA Americas Championship) – The National Team of Argentina defeated Brazil again, this time in the Bronze Medal-Match, 66-59, to win the bronze of the 2015 FIBA Americas Women’s Championship.

• Turning Point: Argentina had better pace from the start, against a Brazilian team that never found its offensive identity. Argentina won the first half, with a six-point lead, difference that remained until the end of the game.

• Stats don’t lie: Argentina dominated the paint, scoring 36 of their points from the area under the basket. Cristian Santander’s team also had a better field goal percentage, shooting for 44 percent.

• Game Hero: Celia Fiorotto and Gisela Vega were key for the Argentinians from the paint, but it was Fiorotto who led the offensive with 13 points.

• The Bottom Line: Argentina will be part of the medal ceremony of the FIBA Americas Championship for the fourth time in the history of the continental competition.
